Privacy Policy

• Account information — your email address and authentication credentials, or your Google identity if you sign in with Google.
• Content you provide — video files you upload, and videos you import from a Google Drive folder you connect.
• Google Drive data — if you connect a Google Drive folder, we access only that folder via a limited, read-only OAuth scope to list and download the video files it contains. We do not access any other files, folders, or Google services in your account.
• TikTok account data — if you connect a TikTok account, we receive your TikTok open ID, display name, and profile picture, together with an OAuth token limited to the "basic user info" and "video publish" scopes. We use this solely to show your connection status and to publish clips to TikTok when you explicitly choose to do so.
• Usage and device data — log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.
• Payment information — if and when paid plans launch, billing details will be collected and processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers ourselves.

• Operate the video processing pipeline: transcribing audio, detecting highlights, cutting clips, and generating captions and hashtags
• Let you review, download, and manage your clips
• Publish clips to TikTok on your behalf, only when you initiate a publish action
• Enforce plan quotas and limits, and provide customer support
• Secure the Service, detect abuse, and comply with legal obligations
• Send service-related notices — we do not send marketing email without your consent

To transcribe audio and generate captions and hashtags, we send the audio track and/or transcript of your video — not your Google Drive or TikTok credentials — to third-party AI providers, currently OpenAI. Those providers process this data solely to return a result to CutClip.

We also use infrastructure providers — currently Amazon Web Services (AWS) — to store video files, clips, and application data, hosted in the ap-southeast-1 (Singapore) region.

When you choose to connect a TikTok account, CutClip requests only the permissions necessary to identify your account and to publish content you approve — specifically the "user.info.basic" and "video.publish" scopes. We do not request, and cannot access, your TikTok followers list, direct messages, or any content other than what you explicitly publish through CutClip.

Your TikTok access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and are only used server-side to make the specific API calls needed to publish a clip you initiated or to keep your connection active. We never display, export, or share these tokens.

CutClip only sends content to TikTok when you take an explicit action to publish a clip, unless you turn on an auto-publish setting for a specific source — which you can disable at any time.

You can disconnect your TikTok account at any time from CutClip's account settings, or by revoking CutClip's access directly in TikTok's own app settings. Disconnecting immediately deletes your stored TikTok tokens from our database and stops any further publishing.

Original uploaded or imported video files, and the raw transcript generated from them, are automatically deleted from our storage once clip generation for that video completes. Generated clips are retained until you delete them or close your account. If you disconnect Google Drive or TikTok, the associated OAuth tokens are deleted immediately. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and remaining content within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with law or resolve disputes.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only: with TikTok, limited to the clip and caption you choose to publish, when you initiate a publish action; with the infrastructure and AI subprocessors described above (currently AWS and OpenAI), solely to operate the Service; and when required to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of CutClip or others.

• Access or export a copy of your account data by contacting us
• Correct inaccurate account information from your settings
• Delete your account and associated content at any time
• Disconnect your Google Drive or TikTok account at any time, independently of each other
• Opt out entirely by not connecting Google Drive or TikTok — uploading files directly requires neither connection

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) for all data sent to and from the Service, and encryption at rest for stored OAuth tokens. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

Your information is processed and stored on servers located in Singapore (AWS ap-southeast-1) and may be transferred to our AI subprocessors' servers, including in the United States, solely to generate transcripts and captions as described above.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notified by email.
